Kent's Message
To my neighbors around Deschutes County,
I have heard your frustrations, disappointments, and demands for change. I am running for Sheriff to fight rising crime, utilize common sense solutions for the homeless crisis, stem the flow of drugs, and bring back fiscal responsibility and respect for taxpayer's money.

I am the only candidate for Sheriff with the experience and education needed to develop a strategic plan with clear, measurable goals aimed at crime reduction, community engagement, drug enforcement and homelessness. This will lead to a more effective, efficient and transparent Sheriff's office, while retaining high quality leadership, deputies, and staff.

To do this, I will utilize these goals:

Cultivate Leadership: I aim to ensure leadership continuity with a focus on process and project management, underscored by accountability, transparency, and diligent follow-through for the benefit of our team.

Empower Our Team: By focusing on the health, well-being, and morale of our workforce, I strive to attract, retain, and support the highest caliber employees, reflective of the communities we serve.

Strengthen Partnerships: My goal is to enhance our public safety collaborations to ensure equitable outcomes, trauma-informed responses, and efficient crime prevention measures.

Enhance Engagement: I will seek to bolster support for the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and deepen our community ties by transparently communicating our mission, values, and successes.

Boost Effectiveness: Innovation is key to our advancement. I will commit to integrating cutting-edge technology and evidence-based strategies to enhance our efficiency and effectiveness.

I am eager to connect with each of you during my campaign. We have so much to talk about. Our discussions will pave the way for a stronger future in Deschutes County.
