Defying Cyber Threats: Safeguarding Our Campaign's Digital Frontiers

Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well, and that you've had a restful holiday season. As we prepare for the upcoming year, I wanted to provide you with an important update regarding a recent cybersecurity incident that our campaign experienced over the holiday break.

I don't understand the value of flooding a website and email in an attempt to crash the servers or sending over 10,000 social media messages. The attackers even attempted to have our regular mail forwarded. I am relieved to inform you that all of these attempts were unsuccessful, and our campaign's data remains secure.

However, the attackers did manage to cause some damage to some programming, media assets, and automated security processes. As a result, we are currently in the process of rebuilding and enhancing the security features of our systems. This may lead to intermittent access to the Vote Vander Kamp website and social media accounts during the reconstruction period.

Rest assured, our team is working diligently to resolve these issues and reinforce the integrity of our digital infrastructure. We are taking additional measures to fortify our defenses and ensure that your support for our campaign remains safeguarded.
